Ride gradings

Route Challenge ratings

Suitable for anyone who enjoys a reasonably active life. The pace is gentle and the terrain flat to undulating. Distances no more than 30 miles (50km).


Suitable for those with slightly more cycling experience. the terrain can be a little hillier than grade 1.5 and distances up to 45 miles (70km).


For the regular and reasonably fit cyclist. The terrain may include some challenging hills and distances up to 75 miles (110km).


These routes require a good level of fitness and stamina and feature challenging inclines and/or a longer time in the saddle. Distances can be up to 100 miles (160km).

Come and join Birmingham's biggest bike ride and help raise funds for the charity of your choice.

From the start at Cannon Hill Park the route follows beautiful country lanes across the Cotswold Hills to the finish at Oxpens Meadows, where you can enjoy refreshments, live music and a well-earned drink in the beer tent!

Getting There: CarFrom the M42 take Junction 4 or 5 towards Birmingham, then follow signs to Moseley via Sparkhill (A34 then B4217 or A41 then B4514, B4217).
From the M5 take Junction 3, then follow the A456 towards Birmingham, onto the A4540 before taking a left down the A435 and then a right onto Salisbury Road towards Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
Getting There: TrainPlease check with operator regarding carriage of bikes and nearest station to get you to the start.

Other InfoMinimum rider age 16 years. We recommend that all riders wear a helmet.

Transport - a coach runs in the morning (6am) to take riders and their bikes from Oxford Ice Rink to the start in Birmingham
Coaches run at set times in the afternoon (3.30pm and 5.30pm) to take cyclists and their bikes back to the Start.
Advance booking recommended as spaces cannot be guaranteed on the day. NB transport tickets are non-refundable.

All riders are required to wear a helmet. A selection of helmets will be available for purchase on the day

Acorns Children's Hospice logo


Established in 1988, Acorns Children's Hospice Trust is a registered charity offering a network of care for life limited and life threatened children and young people, and their families, across the heart of England. These children and young people are not expected to reach adulthood and require specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Acorns is currently supporting over 640 children and more than 910 families, including those who are bereaved.
